Motion [Hybrid] Photography = Photo+Video+Audio

Need something to get really creative and set your photographic work apart from the rest? Suzette Allen is here to show you how easy it can be just by adding a bit of Motion—or video. Hybrid, the creative combo of stills, video and audio, is getting easier to do and people are having fun getting into motion. Suzette will share the simple techniques that you can implement now to add a little video to your photography and show you how to use hybrid templates or simple software to make finished products for fun or for sale. And if you are already familiar with shooting video with your DSLR or Mirrorless camera, Suzette will give your pointers to help you fly through the process from shooting to workflow to final product creation. From what to shoot and how to record it, to how to maximize motion for impact, you will see what tools you need (or don’t need) as well as a demonstration of some simple software to make easy eProducts with a professional look.

Friday Afternoon: 1-3pm

Photo+Video Hands on Walk-Around (cameras provided!)

Join Suzette on Friday afternoon for a neighborhood walkabout to find Good Light and learn a little about adding Video to your photographic adventures. Focused primarily on portrait light and motion, (using continuous light [the sun] and reflectors) bring a companion or family member to photograph or model for you, and we will have fun shooting a little motion and still photos to create a hybrid product. Bring your own mirrorless or DSLR or use one of the 8 available LUMIX G5’s available for the class! This is a fun and enlightening adventure is limited to 10 students! It is helpful and strongly suggested that you also attend the Friday morning class for a good foundation of the hybrid topic & techniques, but not required.

• Explore the area for good Portrait light created by buildings, reflections, and natural vignettes

• Find areas with built in props for simple movement possibilities

• Practice filming motion with your models and cameras

• Use reflectors with natural light (no flash) for good light with Video

• Create movement with your subject or move yourself in your videos

• Try out Mirrorless Lumix G5 cameras if you like!

Saturday Afternoon: 1:30-4:30 Hybrid Light Lounge [Hands-On]

Ready to try out your video skills with a cute model and some fabulous continuous Lights? Jump into action with the HYBRID LIGHT LOUNGE in the Pro Rental Division of K&S and make some fun videos on the spot! Suzette will be coaching students in a video set equipped with continuous lights, with a great model, Natalie, where you can try out some motion techniques on your own. Get some fun ideas for motion, client interaction, filming techniques and try out some equipment too! We even have a few LUMIX G5’s to try out to see how easy it is to shoot video with a mirrorless camera! Suzette and Jon, her techie husband, can help you set up your camera for the proper codex and frame rates, and then, Jon will be demonstrating how to trim and edit videos in Lightroom, to create easy eProducts in minutes. They will be demonstrating Lightroom workflow and simple assembly with ProShowWeb, Lightroom and even Auto-Edited solutions with eTemplates! Sponsored by LUMIX G
